Janhvi Kapoor Would Like To Recreate Mom Sridevi’s Iconic 'Kaate Nahi Kat Te' Song; Says, ‘Those Latkas And Jhatkas Were So Perfect’
Janhvi Kapoor would like to recreate her mom’s iconic song Kaate Nahi Kat Te from Mr India and the reason will make your nod a big yes!
Sridevi’s sudden demise on 24th February 2018 left her family, fans and entire film fraternity in shock. Time and again we see her daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor talking about the influence their mom had in their lives. She always guided them in the best possible ways. But destiny had its own plan and before Janhvi Kapoor’s debut movie Dhadak could release, Sridevi, left for heavenly abode. During the latest interview, Janhvi opened up about Sridevi and which song she would like to recreate.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Janhvi said she would love to recreate some of her mother’s iconic dance numbers on the big screen. One of them being Kaate Nahi Kat Te from Mr India. She said, “I don’t know, all her songs from Chandni and Kaate Nahi Kat Te from Mr India. It wasn’t a dance number, but she was so expressive with her body, there was no dance movement as such, but she still caught the beat and the rhythm and those latkas and jhatkas were all so perfect. Hawa Hawai was such a fun song. The part where she’s having a ball of a time with the fruits and topi was done improvisation.”
She further added “Mom always thought that in dance it’s not all about the steps, they are the last thing that you need to be thinking about. The most important thing, that she said one must do while dancing is to enjoy it thoroughly and have fun.”
She even revealed, “I fondly remember one particular award function as a kid where I saw mom rehearse after a long time. I still remember that she was just marking the steps in the hall at home instead of rehearsing. When I saw her on stage, I was surprised to see her performing so beautifully. This was nothing that I saw at home. She’d blown everyone away with that performance.” (ALSO READ: Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl And Roohi Afzana To Have An OTT Release? Earlier at an event, Janhvi had said that her childhood smells like her mom. “We used to spend a lot of time in our home in Chennai, and she used to put mogras all over our house and in her hair, so it smells like her,” she had said.
